Dear Mr. Tonkin:
This letter is written in response to your visit to my office in Roland, OK, on Wednesday, September 13, 2006. During your visit, as I spoke with you by telephone, you accused me of having inappropriate DEA registration for my part time practice in Roland, OK. After speaking with several DEA representatives in Washington, DC, this week, I was assured that my DEA registration is appropriate for my part time practice in Roland, OK.
Since you, or another DEA agent, has spoken with local pharmacists about me having inappropriate DEA registration for my part time practice in Roland, OK, my practice has been negatively impacted because they will no longer fill my prescriptions.
In an effort to clear up the damage your false accusations and to accompany my complaint about your actions to Karen Tandy, Director of the DEA and request for a congressional inquiry from both my U.S. Senators and Congressman from Roland, OK, please provide me with the following:
1. The name and contact information of the agent that accompanied you to your visit to my office this week that you told me was your boss.
2. A letter documenting your false accusations of having inappropriate DEA registration for my part time practice of medicine in Roland, OK.
3. The name of the DEA agent or agents that went to some local pharmacies telling them not to fill my prescriptions because I have inappropriate DEA registration for my part time practice in Roland, OK.
As a leading national advocate for pain management in America, Founder & President of the American Pain Institute, the organizer of two successful Marches on Washington, organizer of many protest rallies, participant in several congressional briefings and the subject of congressional hearings, the grass root organizer and advocate of the successful passage Arkansas Chronic Pain Treatment Act, as well as an outspoken critic of the Gestapo tactics of the DEA toward physicians who treat chronic pain patients, etc., I will not tolerate your harassment and attempts to damage my medical practice and professional reputation in Oklahoma.
Your prompt attention to this matter will be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Rev. Ronald V. Myers, Sr., M.D.
